Win Colbie's Bag!

Want to win the bag Colbie Caillat signed that was featured in Hear & Now??

Here's your chance!

Send us a video of you saying a Girl Scout PSA! Be creative, add flair to your video, and think up something new!

Don't know what a PSA is? It's a Public Service Announcement. Kind of like a short commercial. All you have to do is make sure you include one of the following PSAs in your video:

"It's Cookie Time! Girl Scout Cookies are now available from Girl Scouts everywhere! The Girl Scout Cookie Program supports the activities and program that Girl Scouts participate in, so make sure to support your local Girl Scouts TODAY!"

"Theyyy're back! Girl Scout Cookies are now available from Girl Scouts everywhere! The Girl Scout Cookie Program supports the activities and program that Girl Scouts participate in. It's an American tradition!"

"Can a cookie change your daughter's life?
Yes, if it is a Girl Scout Cookie! The Girl Scout Cookie program can give her the tools she needs to make her dreams come true. Your daughter will learn leadership skills, goal setting, communication and more when she participates in the great American tradition of selling Girl Scout Cookies."

You can send your video in via e-mail at marcomm@girlscoutshcc.org in any of the following formats: WMV, AVI, MOV, PMG; as long as your video is 10 MB or less. You can also mail a DVD to 3005 Gold Canal Dr. Rancho Cordova, Ca 95670.

Please make sure your entry is in by January 28, 2010. Thank you!

Cant wait to see your videos!

Holiday Gift Ideas

Do you have that one person you have absolutely no idea what to get them for the holidays?
Have you tried searching stores, but can't find anything?

Here are some tips that are bound to give you some ideas!

Winterfest! - There are still three sessions open and there are SOOOOOO many different things to buy there!

GS Shop - There are some really cool items for anyone on your list, from moms, dads, aunts, great step-sisters in law, and anyone else on your list.

Make it! - Everyone loves a handmade gift that shows just how much you appreciate them.

"Creative" Coupons - Give a coupon good for one day spent with you, doing what ever they want to do, skating, shopping, going to the gym, or hanging out at home.

Sing a song - personalize a song for your favorite person, or write it if you don't want to sing it. ;)

ALSO, have a secret buddy exchange at your last GS meeting before the holidays. Then have some hot chocolate and candy canes and sit by the fire! :)

Hope these ideas helped you...and leave a comment with any other ideas you have!

Happy Birthday!

Happy 149th Birthday to the founder of Girl Scouts, Juliette Gordon Low!

Juliette was born on October 31st 1860 (yes Halloweeen... kinda spooky, huh??) in Savannah, Georgia.

After traveling the world and spending some time with Robert Baden-Powel, the founder of Boy Scouts (don't boo too much), Juliette decided she wanted to start her own group of scouts for girls in the U.S.

She founded Girl Scouts on March 12th, 1912, with 18 local girls from Savannah. We've sure grown a lot in 97 years!!

So Happy Birthday to Juliette, and Happy Birthday to all of the other Girl Scouts born in October!

And don't forget to join the Birthday Club!! Click here to join!

Do you like Colbie Caillat? Then you're in luck, because Hear & Now just interviewed her for the Fall Issue!

We also got the chance to interview Erin Sanders, from Zoey 101, the same day. The two GSHCC Interns that got to go down and interview her made some video blogs (vlogs) of their trip down to LA.

I'll be adding one every day for the next couple days, so keep coming back to see how their adventure went!

Dear Julie,

There's this guy at my school. He's really cute and nice but he also is a flirt and gets in trouble quite often. I don't know what to do. I like him a lot, but my friend asked him to go to the 8th grade dance as friends, but he turned her down. She also texted him awhile back and asked if he liked me. He never replied but seemed to be around me a lot when we had elective. What should I do?

--Crushin' in Tracy

Dear Crushin',

This guy probably gets into trouble quite often because most guys go through a stage where they need attention, positive or negative. Hopefully he will grow out of this stage, and as long as he treats you and others with respect I think it's ok to continue liking him. When he turned down your friend's invitation to the dance, maybe he was waiting for an invitation from you? As to your friend texting him, not many guys are willing to share their emotions about girls, even to their closest friends. I think you should ask this guy out on a group date. See if your friends and his want to go to the park for a game of tag or go for an after dinner ice cream run. Going on group dates will give you the chance to get to know him and see if he is interested without the awkwardness of a one on one date.
